Born and raised in the Pine Tree State our founder & head guide, Joey Macomber, leaves Colorado during runoff (mud season) to pursue Native Brook Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Small Mouth Bass and more for the month of June. This marks the prime time in Maine to fly fish for multiple species on a variety of water sheds.  With several lodging locations to choose from, Joey can customize any fly fishing trip for you and your guests. Whether it is fishing the famed Penobscot River for Landlocked Salmon, Floating the world renowned Kennebec River for Brown Trout and Bass or hiking into remote areas for Wild Brook Trout Joey can accommodate. Working with good friend Greg Bostater (Maine River Guides) you can be assured that your fly fishing trip to Maine will be a memorable one. If you are planning a trip to Maine and happen to miss Joey during his time there please inquire about a Fly Fishing Trip and we will be sure that you are taken care of by our friends at Maine River Guides.

Getting There – Most major airlines fly into Portland, Maine (PWM) on a daily basis. Depending on what type of trip you plan on taking, your fishing location can be one hour to four hours away. Most of Trout and Salmon fly fishing is 2- 3 hours North of Portland. If you have never visited Maine we highly recommended that you take the time to visit these parts of the state and see how beautiful it is.  Our Bass fly fishing trips are much closer to Portland so if you are in the city for business or just here for a quick visit we can certainly put you on prime Bass water within 1 hour of the airport. If you are driving just head North on I-95 and we will find you wherever you end up. Again depending on what you would like to target we will give you directions on how to meet us. Due to the vastness of the State we can be close to civilization or deep in the Maine Woods hunting for trout. Don’t worry will get you there and back without any problems. Please do not hesitate to contact Joey with any questions you have when planning your trip.

We are currently offering multi- day Maine Fly Fishing Specials and are filling up fast. Be sure to take advantage of these low fares and book your trip today.

RATES – $400.00 Full Day $300.00 Half Day

WHATS INCLUDED – Fly rod and reel, flies, beverages, snacks and freshly prepared riverside lunch are included on our full day fly fishing trips. Guide gratuity and valid Maine Fishing License are not included in the trip. We recommend purchasing your fishing license on-line prior to your fishing trip. All the above is also included in Half Day trips with the exception of lunch. A riverside lunch can be added for an additional cost.

WHAT TO BRING- Waders, wading boots, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, camera, socks, raincoat, fleece jacket (warm layer). The weather in Maine can change quickly so be prepared for anything. The mosquitos and black flies can be thick at times so it is good to have some bug spray you like. We will have extra gear and supplies that you are welcome to use but try to bring the above mentioned.

TYPICAL DAY- On full day trips you can expect to be on the water early and stay out late. Typically trips are between 6-8 hours but we rarely look at our watch. So if the fishing is good we will stay out to take advantage of it. During our float trips we will spend the majority of time in Drift Boats stopping occasionally to work a good run and stretch our legs. We recommend full day trips unless you are constrained by time. This allows us to show you more water and give you a better fly fishing experience.
