Target Species

We target a variety of iconic trout species across Colorado’s rivers.

Brown Trout

Brown trout in Colorado are more predator-driven than other species, making them perfect targets for streamer fishing. They are especially responsive to streamer presentations, with a 5:1 ratio of brown trout to rainbow trout when using streamers. Brown trout in Colorado offer a thrilling, varied fishing experience for anglers.

Rainbow Trout

Rainbow trout in Colorado are known for their love of insects, especially in the center of rivers where the bug life is most abundant. These fish are opportunistic feeders, thriving on both subsurface bugs during their life cycle and transitioning to dry flies as they mature, particularly enjoying the hatches of the Eagle River.

Cutthroat Trout

Cutthroat trout in Colorado are more mysterious and elusive compared to other species, making them a thrilling challenge for anglers. These fish are tougher to find, but when you do, they can be quite rewarding. Chasing cutthroat trout is an adventure, requiring patience, precision, and knowledge of the right time and place.
