Colorado River Fishing Report August 18th

Fly Fishing on the Colorado River has been excellent from Pump House to Dotsero. Water is being release from Green Mnt Reservoir keeping the Colorado River cool and the trout happy. Current flows are just below 1500CFS in Kremmling, Colorado. The hoppers are making a scene allowing anglers to throw big patterns along the grassy banks of the Colorado River. Amy’s, Ant’s and Chubby Chernobyl’s have been taking a lot of big fish off the surface. MIdges, Small Baetis, Stones and Red Quills are also working well under an attractor or indicator. RS2’s, Jigs, Barr’s Emergers, 20 inchers, Pats Rubber Leg, Woodcutter Baetis, Chocolate Thunder, Zebra Midges and Batwing emergers are good patterns to be presenting under the surface.

The streamer bites has also been excellent, especially from a boat. Olive and Black Sex Dungeon’s are moving a lot of fish. Our guides have also been stripping bigger stoneflies with good results. For last minute questions or reports feel free to contact us at 970-368-5959. See you on the river.
